The Price of Shame - Monica Lewinsky

If you remembered Bill Clinton being the President of the United States, then you'll certainly have heard of his affair with Monica Lewinsky.

When this incident happened, I was just a teenager. I didn't really know much about the BGR issues but I knew that Bill did something really, really bad.

I was brought up in a Catholic school so having an affair was a sin. To be honest, at that age, I didn't really understand what sin really meant except that you go to hell when you do something really bad.

(That's bullshit btw... I'm spiritual now and there's no such thing as hell.)

A few years back in 2015, the name Monica Lewinsky, flashed across my screen and I clicked on the video.

I had the chills while watching her speak and I could feel the pain of her being publicly shamed in every cell in my body.

Takes one to know one right?

We've all experienced shame to a certain degree. Some of us experience on a small scale while others on a larger scale.

Regardless of the magnitude, shame is experienced internally and if not expressed externally in a healthy way, it can cause detrimental results.

This was the first time, I heard her speak and hearing from the horse's mouth as to what really happened in those days.

Why I'm sharing this?

Because this video made me cry. Her willingness to be vulnerable and openness touched my soul!

I could feel her pain as if it was mine!

I wanted to share this story because I want to remind us all that (myself included) it's so easy to poke fun, speak ill and judged those who we don't know online.

It's so easy to be a keyboard warrior these days.

This isn't being a online vigilante! It's called cyber bully and harassment.

Take a deep breathe! And here's the truth!

Perhaps you don't realise that you're doing it or perhaps you've witness people doing it, is it time to put a stop to this?

After all, what's the point of the #timesup and #metoo movement is we don't stick together as ONE HUMAN RACE!

How many suicides have we seen and heard as a direct result of bullying?

Even the person is wrong, we're not here to play God - no matter how bad a person is, there's still conscience within the person and it hurts.

No matter what, we ain't got any right to hurt another person because that's just being an abuser!

Let's make our world a safe place for women and our children and more generations to come shall we?
